My S&G Wishlist

Hey Everyone :)

Soap & Glory... whats not great about their products? The packaging is so cute, the directions on the back of the package are so funny and cute, its girly, the product itself is amazing! After my sister got me the soap and glory hatbox I have been in love with the range.

So... my wishlist includes:

No Clogs Allowed deep pore detox mask

The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel

Glow Job Daily Radiance Moisture Lotion

Bath & Body:

The Righteous Butter Body Lotion

I can't wait to try out these products :) Since I got facials done in college I am really more into giving myself a home-facial every week. Like exfoliating, toning, moisturing, cleansing and a peel.

Which S&G products have you tried? Have you tried any products on my wishlist and let me know if there worth getting? :) Thanks x

Cosmetic Animal Testing!

This is more of a serious post. I am currently doing a report for my communications class on Cosmetic Animal Testing. So as I was doing research I found out that a lot of the major well known make-up brands are in fact testing on animals. I have got these names from the PETA cosmetic animal testing list:

  • Clairol
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • L'Oreal
  • Maxfactor
  • Olay
  • Pantene
  • Bare Escentuals
  • Barefaced mineral cosmetic
  • Bobbi Brown
  • The Body Shop
  • Dermatalogica
  • E.L.F. Cosmetics
  • Gosh
  • Lush
  • MAC
  • Revlon
  • Smashbox
  • Too Faced
  • Urban Decay
Thats really shocking. Like, I was selling Maxfactor products to my mom, now I won't be doing it again! My brother used to use Pantene on his hair but he's moved over to Elvive (Cheryl Coles a good advertiser!) and I'm glad because it's horrible what these animals go through.

Animals only last up to 2 -3 weeks. And eyeshadows are tested on rabbits. The most common thing tested on animals is soaps or eyeshadows. The reason why the word cosmetics is used is because they classed soaps, perfumes and make-up together.

I am now going to try my best to avoid buying animal tested products. The companies that don't test on animals can be expensive but it would be definately worth it if I have the piece of mind that no animal is being harmed or tested on.

I thought I'd do my part in making other make-up addicts aware of the price animals have to pay. :(

3 for 2 Haul

Hey Everyone :)

So I went shopping the other day and I picked up 2 items, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and Maybelline's Dream Sunglow bronzer. I was eyeing up Rimmel Colour Mousse in Galaxy (purple). So I went up to pay and was told that there was a 3 for 2 deal on the make-up so ran back and picked up the eyeshadow! :)

I'm not too happy with the foundation. I think its too light for my skin. Its very creamy and hard to get good coverage. The bronzing powder is really good, it gives a natural glow or it can give a darker glow, depending on how much you apply. I tested out the eyeshadow and its very pretty but makes my eye lids crease and looks very wrinkly on :( But overall I'm happy with my buys.

My Small Lipstick Collection (+ News)

Hey Everyone :)

I have recently got a few new lipsticks to begin my lipstick collection. So I decided to stick with what I know, nude and red! Haha.

As I have posted yesterday I got Barry M's 101 (marshmallow) nude lip paint. Which I am delighted about. Its a very light pink, as seen in the picture. It's definately one I am going to keep getting it. Its gorgeous.
This is Rimmels Lasting Finish 206 Nude Pink Lipstick. It looks like a coral pink on. It doesnt really show well in the picture but its a lovely natural shine looking pink.

This is Rimmels Lasting Finish 170 Alarm Lipstick. It is a bright red. It is very moisturising and doesnt feel dry on my lips. The red stands out and looks glam. I ament one for bright lipsticks but this is one I'd definately wear. I got it for christmas day. Its lovely.

Whats your favourite Lipstick?

My Weekend + Products

Hey Everyone :)

So my weekend started off with a very hungover Friday morning. I was out Thursday night (best college night out of the week). I was out for Donna, a girl from college, birthday. It a great night, we started drinking at a house and then went to the club, Gorbys, in Cork.
Friday I got a bus to Dublin and slept the whole way there. Saturday, I went SHOPPING. YAY! So I was shopping all day, in the Liffey Valley. It has all my favourite shops, River Island, New Look, H&M, Boots, Dunnes Stores and Accessorize. I got food in the food court in a new chinese place called 'Ginzeng'. It was SAVAGE (very nice).
So when I was shopping, I went into a lot of shops, I got a set of 3 pairs of stud earrings. I had a good look around New Look and got a gorgeous black dress with a heart shape on the back. I finally got Barry M's 101 nude lip paint! Its about time! I've been looking for it for AGES, and they haven't been selling it in Cork :'( So, I finally got that. Also, I tested 'Nair Hair Removal Facial Brush-on' and OMG what a mistake!! It basically removed most of the hair on my upper lip BUT it burned my skin. During the process I didn't feel a burning pain but once I removed the product I noticed my skin was rough and dry and I have dry skin patchs. :(
Saturday night I was out in Flannerys Pub, on Camden Street in Dublin. It was unreal. I had such a good time. I went out with my boyfriends sister, Sinead, his brother, Donnchadh, and her friends Emily, Colette, Louise, Paula and others. I had a very good night, it was my first night out in Dublin and it was great. We went to a Kebab place after.
So overall I had a good weekend. :)

Make-up Look: Purple Smokey

Hey Everyone :)

I know it's about time I posted this... I used my coastal scents palette, rimmel silver eyeshadow and rimmel white eyshadow. I also used maybelline define-a-line liquid eyeliner and maybellines Colossal mascara. I think I look like I have a bruised eye but sure it could be played down a bit and done really nicely. I must try a less dramatic version of this look.
It looks gorgeous on the model on the right.

Hope you like my look :)

Snow Day

Hey Everyone :)

It smowed in Cork yesterday! YAY! We haven't had snow like this in a VERY long time! There was snow on Christmas Day 2005 but nothing like this. We had a huge snowball fight out the back garden. As you can see in the picture below, as we posed for a nice snowy picture my sister, her boyfriend and my brother were all gathering snow to pound us with snowballs!
We made a snow(wo)man called snowy. I was so happy with it. She was huge! Biggest I've ever made. And my boyfriend rolled around the base around the whole garden. It took a long time but it was worth it for about 10 minutes! :( Our snowy was taken. Firstly some lads took her head, then some other lads threw the middle part over the wall and rolled the larger body base out of my garden. I was very sad. But I knew it would happen.
Our snowman had pink biscuit eyes, a carrot nose and twig arms. I put my pink scarf around its neck too. Isn't it really cool? :)

I am technically using this picture as a FOTD, I had mascara streaming down my face... nice haha, yellow wellies, a black dress with black tights, a purple scarf and grey coat.

My Body!

Hey Everyone :)

I am extremely happy today. I weighed myself last week and I was 7 pounds over the stone mark. And then today I weighed myself and I lost up to about 4 pounds in the past week. That is AMAZING for me. Well I've cut out fried foods, chocolate and cut back diet coke.

My body idol is Coleen Rooney. I am a long way off getting the body she has, but it's a goal I'm going for now that its 2010. I am sick of being heavy and not doing anything about it. So I'm making changes to better myself. I think she is gorgeous and has a gorgeous body shape.

For those of you across the ocean who more than likely wouldn't have heard of her.... She is Coleen Rooney, married to the Manchester United football player Wayne Rooney. They have a son, Kai, together. She is 23 years old. She has a fashion column in OK! magazine, she has 2 books on the market (which I have in my room woohoo). She is a total fashionista, a tagged WAG (Wife and girlfriends of footballers) but she doesn't like the tag. She lives in Liverpool, UK. And she loves the shop Cricket.

Make-up Look: Silver and Turquise

Hey Everyone :)

Its definately about time that I post a make-up look! I used rimmel silver eyeshadow, urban decay's peace, my rimmel foundation, maybeline define a line liquid eyeliner and maybelines collossal mascara.

This is the liquid eyeliner with a little wing at the side.

This is my look, half silver on the inner eye and half turquise on the outter part of my eye. My eyelashes are very straight here but thats because my eyes are kind of swollen again atm.
My eyelashes are dead straight here ahhh! But the mascara used is not to blame haha. I really like this look. Love turquise. Not sure about it on me because I have blue eyes?!

Its ME! I love the colours I used on my eyes. But I'm starting to not like my foundation, its not very good coverage wise. I'll have a look around for better alternatives. :)

Products I'm Loving...

Hey Everyone :)

I decided to let you all know what products I'm loving at the mo! I haven't been using these products for long but all that I write about them below is my honest opinion. I hope you try some of these products because they work!! :)

Umberto Giannini Instant Beauty Makeover Spray
This is a pick me up for your hair. I used it once but didn't see much result from it. But I plan to use it more and see the effects better. I was really hoping that something branded as a designer hair product would be amazing on my hair. I may have used it wrong but I'm pretty sure I didn't. My hair looked dry and dull but maybe I was expecting something different! I will use this for the next two weeks and will post on Saturday 23rd January my results, with pictures!

Aussie Dual Personality Heat Protection and Leave-In Spray & Aussie Dual Personality Anti-Frizz and Conditioning Milk
I have used the two of these together and I must say I am delighted with the results. My hair looks shinier, healthier, has more flow and movement, also when I straightened my hair it was soft and smooth. Also my hair wasn't as bushy and dry as it normally is! I was always a fan of Aussie hair products and wanted to expand from shampoo and conditioner and try some products. I have used heat protectors before but this one is the one I found had the best result!

Soap & Glory Glad Pits
This is a 24-hour anti-perspirant. It smells absolutely amazing! And it works! I am a sweating (glowing) person but this smells lovely and the packaging is so cute and girly! It is so great I got 2 bottles! I LOVE IT! Its got Aloe Vera extract. And every time I use it my underarm feels much more fresh and just overall nicer!

Anyone else tried this? Whats your opinion?

Soap & Glory Girligo (Body Moisturizing Mist)
This is a moisturizing spray. It smells amazing and sprays on quite easily. It is scented with peach, strawberry, mandarin, jasmine, musk and bergamot. With all these nice smells mixed together how could it not smell amazing. I used it after my shower and my skin is noticeably softer and has a nice glow to it. I really like this product and am making it my main body moisturizer.

Any other Soap&Glory fans out there? What products would you recommend?

Nivea Body Good-Bye Cellulite
Do you have the dreaded Cellulite? Well I believe this is the product for you! I read in a magazine a test they did on 5 different cellulite busting products and this one got the highest vote after 2 weeks continuous use. Its a gel cream that you massage into the section of skin affected by cellulite. I am currently testing the 2 week test at the mo. I am on day 3, so I shall post my discoveries in 2 weeks... I will post my results on Saturday 23rd January. I hope it works. :) I am currently testing it on my stomach and thighs. Two of the recommended by Nivea areas.

Check Back for my findings.

I hope you liked my post.

Happy New Year 2010!

Happy New Year!!
It's a new year! 2010 is upon us! Who else is going to make the most of it? Time goes by so fast! I'll be 21 this year, its my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend, I'm finishing a course and maybe starting a new one... lots of growing and changing.
As the clock striked midnight this new years I was celebrating with my boyfriend and his family. We were watching RTE to see what way the world was celebrating but they didnt have the show on this year so we watched movies. And once midnight came we sang that song everyone sings? And we broke bread on the door, and got some money as a ritual of money being good for the year.
So on the 1st official day of the new year I was thinking what did I do that was worth remembering in 2009, and what did I do that would make other people remember me in 2009, I coudnt think of anything good enough! What did i do worth remembering... Well I came up with I went to Oxegen for the first time, I went to some crazy partys and had one of the best summers of my life! And what did I do that would make other people remember me in 2009... I honestly have no clue. Well something good that came out of last year was I started this blog. :)
Whats going to change for me in this coming year? Well I plan to stay organised, my room tidy-er than I have been keeping it, I plan to try to get a job and do well in college with assignments and my exams. Also, I plan to lose weight. I haven't told anyone only my younger brother and boyfriend this but I have signed up for the X Factor! But I'm freaking out about it now so I'm thinking WHAT WAS I THINKING? But when I was filling in the application I was thinking why not? So I'm going to try to be more confident and outgoing! But I hope to lose weight for myself and so I can feel more confident if I do go for the audition!
So it being a new year some advise that everyine has probably told you... I hope you make the most of this year, do things you would have thought of never doing before, don't hold back and you won't have any regrets. Go for it.
Lots of Love xoxo
